As with all things new, a new restaurant brings expectations. The Goat’s recent entry to the Newburyport culinary scene makes it a good place for those wanting a casual but vibrant dining experience. On a recent visit we started with Nachos and Guacamole; it was a very hearty portion and very appetizing. The accompanying House salad and the Goat cheese Burger were just as sumptuous and made for a very satisfying meal. As mentioned, this is a place for having a good time in a relaxed setting with a reasonably priced menu. The open air bar setting to the Merrimack River and the abundant views of the beautiful harbor, especially in good weather, add much to the ambiance. If you are in town for a visit or are local, and would like to have a fun gathering with friends and family, this would be a worthy place to stop by.

Great food, excellent service. I ordered a b.l.t with tots. Live music every Saturday 10-2pm. Upstairs & downstairs seating. Bring a sweater it gets windy!

We had a great time! Breakfast shots, Bloody Mary variety, great food, great location and best servers! The breakfast shots were a tasty way to start the day. The wide variety of bloody mary combinations to anybody’s taste. Get a side skewer of shrimp or bacon or ham or get an all! The food was excellent! great home fries, omelette, bacon, everything! Generous portions. The Goat servers were fun and helpful. It was so good we went back the next day. Try The Goat and you will be glad you did!

I was visiting Newburyport and stopped in at the Goat for dinner -this place is a must visit! We sat at the downstairs bar for dinner, the service was great and the glass doors gave a beautiful view. The live music was awesome too, adding to the fun vibe of the restaurant! Perfect spot to grab a drink on the bottom or top deck on a nice day and great menu options- highly recommend!

First time at the Newburyport Goat. Been to Hampton many times. Let me say, this is not the Hampton Goat. I love the Hampton Goat but Newburyport is a different upscale vibe with touch of Goat. The deck and views are awesome. The bar is huge with tvs everywhere. And they even did live music from above on a Tuesday night. It was packed and the service was solid. Definitely a bit of a wait to eat as there are not a ton of tables...especially if it starts raining like it did for us. Many of the tables are out on the deck area. Food portions were huge and quality was very good. My Cure burger was excellent and the thin o rings were a perfect match. We had a couple apps, salads, burgers, etc. And big can bud lights for 5. Tough to beat! Great spot for sports, bar food, and drinks. I will absolutely be back to hang on the deck.

Me and my friends came here for lunch and had a great time. We sat upstairs on the deck which is small but has the best view, the view downstairs from the bar area is also nice though. I got the steak and cheese with potato salad and it was tasty,. We also got this massive drink that four people can drink, and wow was it good and really sweet and definitely left you leaving there tipsy! We came back around 9pm for the music and the guy playing was okay, the place was pretty packed but its nice it is right by the harbor so it had a nice view. There is also a dirt parking lot next to the building you can park in so you dint have to pay to park there.

I’ve been 4-5 times now. Great experience! So happy to have The GOAT near by as a fun, laid back, country bar. Great environment, drink menu, and food menu. The top deck/bar in the summer is unbeatable and burger night on Tuesdays are also great. Highly recommend!

This place is amazing.Great views of the harbor. Hundreds of boats to look at while you eat.The bar is right on the river with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. Great food and drink choices. The service was amazing. .Our server was Leah and was excellent. Friendly,very attentive, and helpful. Also had . 10cent wings!!! Crazy to see that these days
